While a statewide network is crucial in providing clear, concise communications,
the most effective advocacy efforts occur at the local level. Advocates are
encouraged to educate their legislative delegation on issues important for young
children and be diligent in representing their interests. Children can’t vote –
advocates must serve as the message bearers for children. Educate and encourage parent
groups, school readiness coalition members, and other interested citizens to engage
in a dialogue and develop a local agenda for children.
