Cash for Caring Providers!

PATCH is pleased to offer our new Early Learning Enhancement Project - Cash for Caring Providers!. The goal is to offer child care professionals the chance to recieve support towards increasing the quality of their child care program.

This year, the project was made possible through the generosity of the Hawaii Visitor Industry's Charity Walk - Maui, Hawaii, Kauai and Oahu chapters and Sony Open Friends of Hawaii Charities.

Reimbursement grants (up to $500) are available to licensed family child care providers or potential providers currently seeking licensing through DHS and actively enrolled in PATCH's Family Child Care Recruitment Program. Grant awards are limited to one per licensed home per round. Eligible purchases are those that relate to child care program improvements and/or professional development costs. These may include workshop/training fees, equipment or curriculum purchases, program supplies, etc.

Eligibility & Criteria

Licensed Family Child Care Providers
-Currently licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Human Services
- Have attended at least 5 professional development workshops (i.e. child development, health & safety, etc.) through any agency within the past 3 years. Copies of the certificates of completions for these workshops need to be included with the application OR is currently participating in the PATCH Child Care Food Program
- 250-word statement of how the funds were used to increase the quality of their child care program

Home Child Care Providers Currently Pursuing Licensing
- Currently pursuing child care licensing through the State of Hawaii Department of Human Services and actively enrolled in the PATCH Family Child Care Recruitment Program
- Have attended at lease 5 professional development workshops (i.e. child development, health & safety, etc.) through any agency within the past 3 years. Copies of the certificates of completions for these workshops need to be included with the application
- 250-word statement of how the funds were used to increase the quality of their child care program

**Applications must include copies of reciepts for all eligible purchases. Reciepts must show the description of the service or product purchased, date of purchase, and price.**
