Teacher Position Available

General Description:
The preschool teacher shall help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to the child's development and bring praise and glory to God.

Qualifications:
A preschool teacher shall:
  1. Be one who has received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
  2. Be one who regularly attends and financially supports an evangelical church and demonstrates a good testimony in the community. He/she shall sign, without reservation, the KUC doctrinal statement (statement of faith) annually. He/she shall be a person of spiritual maturity with leadership abilities that will allow him/her to "train up the child in the way he should go". A teacher shall reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class, and in every activity.
  3. Meet one of the following qualifications:
a. a degree in child development or early childhood education from an accredited college or university, and six months working experience in an early childhood program, or

b. post secondary credential in child development associate program or organized two-year (60 credit) college program and certificate in early childhood education, plus one year supervised teaching experience in an early childhood program, or

c. baccalaureate (bachelor's degree) in elementary education from an accredited college or university plus six months working in an early childhood program, plus six credit-semester or equivalent approved child development or early childhood training courses, (may be included as part of bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree), or

d. baccalaureate (bachelor' degree) in any field from an accredited college or university plus six months working in an early childhood program, plus twelve credits-semester or equivalent approved child development or early childhood training courses, (may be included as part of bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree).

Assistant Preschool Teacher (Maui, permanent/full-time)

Maui Preparatory Academy

Description: Assistant Preschool Faculty (permanent/full-time): Maui Preparatory is seeking a full-time assistant preschool teacher. Duties include assisting the lead teacher with providing a nurturing and engaging learning environment for 3- and 4-year-olds. The successful candidate must be able to plan, organize, supervise and implement all aspects of classroom activities. The successful candidate will be expected to provide extended-day supervision on a regular basis. Qualifications include: (1) a Post-secondary Child Development Associate degree (CDA) with a minimum of one year experience working in an early childhood program, (2) successful completion of an organized two-year (sixty credits) college program and certificate in early childhood education; or (3) the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Deadline to apply: Position will be posted until filled.
